Best time to visit Dapoli
October to March is the most comfortable period, with calm sea and clear skies. December to February is cooler and the most pleasant. April and May are hot but bring the mango season. Monsoon is green and dramatic but swimming is unsafe and boat rides usually stop. Festivals and long weekends can be busy, so book early.
What to eat
The Konkan is a food lover's coast. Look for fresh fried fish, prawns curry, crab masala, bombil, simple vegetarian thalis, solkadhi, rice bhakri and, in the right season, ripe mangoes.
