What to eat Try jowar rotti with ennegai, bisi bele bath, dosa and idli, and sweet Mysore pak in the local eateries. Cafes in Hampi serve a mix of Indian and continental dishes. Plan your meals, because some sites have few options.
Shopping Hampi Bazaar sells handicrafts, cotton clothes, bags, stone carvings, jewellery and Lambani embroidery. Ilkal sarees from the region and sandalwood items are also popular. Buy only what you need, and carry your garbage back.

About visiting the sites Hampi, Badami, Pattadakal and Aihole are protected sites, so please follow the rules: no littering, no loud music, no climbing on the ruins, no touching the carvings.
