Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How far is the Statue of Unity from Pune by road?
Ekta Nagar (Kevadia) is about 580 to 620 km from Pune. The drive takes roughly 10 to 12 hours via Nashik and Saputara, or via Surat and Rajpipla, depending on the road and traffic.
Q2. Can we visit the Statue of Unity in one or two days from Pune?
We do not recommend it. The distance is too long, and you would spend most of the time on the road. The shortest practical plan is 3 days, with Day 2 as a full day at the Statue.
Q3. Do we need to book tickets in advance?
es, we recommend booking in advance, especially for weekends, holidays and around 31 October. Tickets for the Statue and the viewing gallery are timed and have limited capacity. We help you plan the slots once your dates are confirmed.

A full day is best. The statue, the viewing gallery and the dam take half a day, and the gardens, the Valley of Flowers, the safari and the evening show fill the rest.
Q5. What is the best time to visit the Statue of Unity?
October to March is the most comfortable. Summers are very hot, and the monsoon is green but humid. Weekday mornings are far better than weekends and holidays.

Sardar Sarovar Dam, the Valley of Flowers, the Jungle Safari and the Glow Garden are inside the complex. Saputara and Vadodara are the main stops on the way. Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary and Garudeshwar are also nearby.
Q7. What can we eat near the Statue of Unity?
Gujarati thalis, dhokla, khakhra and fafda-jalebi are the local favourites, and Vadodara is known for sev usal and lilo chevdo. The food courts at Ekta Nagar serve a mix of vegetarian dishes. The area is mostly vegetarian, and Gujarat is a dry state.

Pune To Statue Of Unity Trip — Travel Guide
Pune to Statue of Unity Trip: A Practical Guide by Trip Leads
The Statue of Unity at Ekta Nagar is one of the most visited landmarks in Gujarat, and it combines easily with Saputara and Vadodara on a road trip from Pune. This guide explains the distance, the route, the main sights, the best season and how to choose between a three, four or five day trip.
How far is the Statue of Unity from Pune? Ekta Nagar (Kevadia) is about 580 to 620 km from Pune. The drive takes roughly 10 to 12 hours via Nashik, the Saputara and Dang region, or via Surat and Rajpipla, depending on the road and traffic. Start early, ideally before 5:00 am.
Why not a one or two day trip? The distance is too long for a one day outing, and a two day plan would be almost all driving. The shortest plan we recommend is 3 days, with Day 2 as a full day at the Statue.
Option A: A 3 day, 2 night trip Day 1 is the drive from Pune to Ekta Nagar. Day 2 is the Statue and the nearby attractions. Day 3 is the return. This Pune to Statue of Unity 3 days trip is for groups who want only the Statue.
Option B: A 4 day, 3 night trip Day 1 is the drive to Saputara. Day 2 is Saputara and the drive to Ekta Nagar. Day 3 is the Statue. Day 4 is the return. This Pune to Statue of Unity 4 days trip is the one I suggest for most groups.
Option C: A 5 day, 4 night trip Day 1 is the drive to Saputara. Day 2 is the drive to Ekta Nagar. Day 3 is the Statue. Day 4 is Vadodara. Day 5 is the return. It is the complete Statue of Unity tour package from Pune.

Timings, fees and the days the complex is open are set by the authorities and can change. We confirm them when your trip is finalised.
What to eat Try Gujarati thalis, dhokla, khakhra and fafda-jalebi. In Vadodara, try sev usal and lilo chevdo. Food courts inside the complex serve a mix of dishes. Plan your meals, because options are limited on some stretches of the highway.
Shopping The complex has stalls selling souvenirs, Sardar Patel memorabilia, handicrafts, tribal art and local snacks. Vadodara is known for its sweets, textiles and handicrafts. Buy only what you need, and carry your garbage back.
Best time to visit October to March is the most comfortable. Summers are very hot, and the monsoon is green but humid and can affect the road. Avoid 31 October, Diwali, long weekends and holiday dates if you want a quiet visit.
Which car for which group? Hatchback or sedan for 1 to 3 people, Ertiga for 4 to 6, Innova Crysta for comfort on long drives, Tempo Traveller for 8 to 17, and a mini bus for larger groups. For a trip this long, we recommend a comfortable vehicle with good boot space.
Where to stay There are hotels, guesthouses and the Narmada Tent City at Ekta Nagar, resorts and hotels at Saputara, and hotels at Vadodara. Rooms fill up on weekends, holiday dates and around 31 October, so book early.
