Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: OPTION – 1 DAY TRIP 6:00 AM: Pickup from Shirdi. If you want the morning Sai Baba darshan first, tell us in advance, and we plan a later start with a shorter Nashik visit. 8:00 AM: Breakfast near Sinnar. Poha, misal pav or paratha with tea is enough. 9:15 AM: Reach Trimbakeshwar. Park at the designated area and walk to the temple. Weekday mornings are calmer, and Mondays and weekends can have a long queue. 9:45 AM: Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga darshan. Dress modestly and follow the temple rules. Waiting time depends on the day, so we keep a buffer. 12:00 PM: Kushavarta Kund and a few quiet minutes in the temple lanes. 12:45 PM: Lunch at a simple local restaurant. 1:30 PM: Drive to Nashik, roughly 30 km. 2:30 PM: Kalaram Mandir and Sita Gufa. Dress modestly and follow the temple rules. 4:00 PM: Panchavati and Ramkund, with a short walk along the Godavari ghat. 5:00 PM: Start the return drive to Shirdi, with a tea stop on the way. 7:30 PM: Expected arrival in Shirdi, depending on traffic. Note: This is a long day. Darshan queues on Mondays, festival days and weekends can push the plan later, and we may drop Panchavati if needed. We confirm the plan before booking.
Day 2: OPTION – 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT Day 1: Trimbakeshwar and Nashik 6:30 AM: Pickup from Shirdi. 8:30 AM: Breakfast near Sinnar. 10:00 AM: Reach Trimbakeshwar. Darshan at the Jyotirlinga temple. Keep a buffer for the queue. 12:30 PM: Kushavarta Kund and lunch. 2:30 PM: Drive to Nashik, check in and rest. 5:00 PM: Panchavati and Ramkund, with a walk along the ghat. Dress modestly. 6:30 PM: Evening aarti at the ghat, if running, and a walk through the old market. 8:00 PM: Dinner and overnight stay. Try Nashik misal. Allow about one and a half hours. 3:30 PM: Start the drive to Shirdi, roughly two to two and a half hours. 6:00 PM: Expected arrival in Shirdi, depending on traffic.
Day 3: OPTION – 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS TOUR PACKAGE Day 1: Shirdi to Trimbakeshwar 8:00 AM: Pickup from Shirdi. Know Before You Go

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. How far are Nashik and Trimbakeshwar from Shirdi by road?
Nashik is roughly 85 to 95 km from Shirdi, and Trimbakeshwar is about 105 to 125 km. Nashik to Trimbakeshwar is about 30 km. Drive times depend on the route and traffic.
Q2. Can we visit Nashik and Trimbakeshwar in one day from Shirdi?
Yes. If you leave by 6:00 am, you can take Trimbakeshwar darshan in the morning and see Kalaram Mandir, Sita Gufa and Panchavati in the afternoon. It is a long day, so for a relaxed pace, or with senior citizens, choose the 2 day option.
Q3. Can we take Sai Baba darshan before leaving Shirdi?
Yes, if you tell us in advance. We start after your darshan, and the plan shifts later. Queue and pass rules are managed by the Shirdi temple trust, so please check the current process.
Q4. Which is the best order, Trimbakeshwar first or Nashik first?
Trimbakeshwar first is usually easier, because the temple queue is the main variable, and Nashik’s sights are flexible and can be fitted around it. We can reverse the order if your dates suit it better.
Q5. Can we do Kalsarpa or Narayan Nagbali pooja?
Yes, through an authorised or trusted priest in Trimbakeshwar. Some rituals take a few hours, and some take two or three days. Tell us your preferred ritual, and we will plan a custom itinerary. Ritual charges are not included.
Q6. Will the Simhastha Kumbh Mela affect the trip?
The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela is expected in 2027, so there may be construction, road diversions and crowd planning before and during it. We check the current conditions before your trip, and we advise avoiding the main bathing dates unless the Kumbh is the reason for your visit.
Q7. Is Saptashrungi suitable for senior citizens?
The temple is reached by a flight of steps, and a trolley may be available. Please tell us if anyone cannot manage the steps, and we will check what help is available. Navratri and Chaitra Purnima are very crowded, so we advise avoiding those days.

Shirdi To Nashik Trimbakeshwar Trip — Travel Guide

Shirdi to Nashik Trimbakeshwar Trip: A Practical Guide by Trip Leads

Nashik and Trimbakeshwar are two of the most important pilgrim places in Maharashtra, and both are close to Shirdi. This guide explains the distances, the route, the places worth your time and how to choose between a one, two or three day trip.

How far are Nashik and Trimbakeshwar from Shirdi?
Nashik is roughly 85 to 95 km from Shirdi, about two hours by road. Trimbakeshwar is about 30 km beyond Nashik, and roughly 105 to 125 km from Shirdi directly via Sinnar, about two and a half to three hours. Saptashrungi is roughly 65 km north of Nashik, about an hour and a half to two hours.

Which road do we take?
We usually go from Shirdi to Trimbakeshwar via Sinnar, then drive on to Nashik, which saves backtracking. We check the current road condition and any Kumbh Mela diversions with our drivers before your trip.

Option A: A 1 day trip
Leave Shirdi by 6:00 am, take Trimbakeshwar darshan in the morning, see Kalaram Mandir, Sita Gufa and Panchavati in the afternoon, and return in the evening.

Option B: A 2 day, 1 night trip
Day 1 covers Trimbakeshwar and an evening at Ramkund. Day 2 covers Kalaram Mandir, Sita Gufa, Muktidham and Pandavleni before the return. This is the one I suggest for families.

Option C: A 3 day, 2 night trip
Night 1 at Trimbakeshwar, night 2 in Nashik, and Saptashrungi on the way back on Day 3. It is the complete circuit from Shirdi.

The places worth your time

Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple: A black stone Jyotirlinga temple at the foot of Brahmagiri, with three small lingams in a hollow.
Kushavarta Kund: A sacred tank near the temple, associated with the Godavari and used for ritual bathing.
Nivruttinath Samadhi: The samadhi of Saint Nivruttinath, the elder brother of Saint Dnyaneshwar, in Trimbakeshwar.
Panchavati and Ramkund, Nashik: The Godavari ghat area linked with the Ramayana, where devotees bathe and offer prayers.
Kalaram Mandir: A black stone temple of Ram, known for its large complex and tall walls.
Sita Gufa: A narrow cave shrine in Panchavati, traditionally linked with Sita’s stay.
Muktidham: A marble temple complex in Nashik Road with replicas of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
Pandavleni Caves: Ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves on a hill, reached by a climb of steps.
Saptashrungi Gad, Vani (Option C): A hilltop temple of the goddess Saptashrungi, regarded as one of the three and a half Shakti Peethas of Maharashtra. It is reached by a flight of steps, and a trolley may be available.
Vineyard visit (optional): Nashik is known for its vineyards, and some offer tours and grape-season visits. It is optional, for adults, and not part of the pilgrimage plan.

About darshan at Trimbakeshwar
Lines can be short on weekday mornings and very long on Mondays, Shravan, Mahashivratri, Kartik Purnima and festival days. A paid fast-track darshan may be available. Dress modestly, and confirm the current rules about dress, phones, bags and footwear for the inner sanctum. We plan your darshan for the quietest slot possible.

About rituals and poojas
Trimbakeshwar is known for rituals such as Kalsarpa Shanti, Narayan Nagbali and Tripindi Shraddha, which are done by priests in the town. Some take a few hours, and some take two or three days. Please book only through an authorised or trusted priest, agree the charges in advance and avoid touts. Tell us when you book, and we will plan the days around it.

About Ramkund
Ramkund is a bathing ghat on the Godavari. Check the water level and safety before entering the water, keep children close and avoid bathing after heavy rain. The evening aarti, if running, is a calm and atmospheric time to visit.

What to eat
Try Nashik misal, sabudana khichdi, poha and a simple thali. Nashik is known for grapes and raisins in season. Food near the temples is simple and mostly vegetarian.

Shopping
Trimbakeshwar’s lanes sell rudraksha, small Shiva lingams, bel leaves, malas and pooja items. Nashik sells brass items, grapes and raisins, chivda and wine-country products. Buy from established shops and compare prices before you pay.

Best time to visit
October to February is the most comfortable. The monsoon is misty but slippery and crowded, and summers are hot. Avoid Mondays, Shravan, Mahashivratri and long weekends if you want a calm darshan.

Which car for which group?
Hatchback or sedan for 1 to 3 people, Ertiga for 4 to 6, Innova Crysta for comfort on the highway, Tempo Traveller for 8 to 17, and a mini bus for larger groups.

Where to stay
Trimbakeshwar has bhakta niwas, dharamshalas, lodges and hotels, and Nashik has hotels at every budget. Rooms fill up quickly on Mondays, festival days and long weekends, so book early.

Practical tips
Start early, carry water and a light jacket, wear footwear that is easy to remove, keep valuables minimal, follow the temple rules and avoid unauthorised priests and touts.

Book with Trip Leads
